Legacy Academy Children’s Art Park

The Legacy Academy Children’s Art Park is even bigger & better for 2008! Professional arts educators, artisans and volunteers will be on hand to guide the wonderful mix of FREE and fun arts activities for your children!

The first 500 children to visit the Children’s Art Park each day will receive a FREE T-shirt !!

Kids will love our great mix of Free Art Park activities, including:

	Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center- Art Technology project –Slime! Young Chef’s Academy- Noodle necklaces – great take home! Hudgens Art Center- “Art is in the Earth” Collage project. Earth themed collages will be created using paper, fabric and markers. Children will leave this project with Hudgens to be assembled into much larger collage displayed at Hudgens Art Center. Children are invited to visit Hudgens and see their art on display. Pinckneyville Community Center- Clay ornaments. Children will paint and decorate the clay ornaments to take with them. Legacy Academy- Fun painting project using marbles! T-shirts- First 500 children each day will receive a free t-shirt. Children are invited to print their hand prints or foot prints on the t-shirts. ART Station at Stone Mountain – Visual arts project Moon Sand Sculpture Station- Children will use their imagination to crate sculptures using moon sand
Legacy Academy Children’s Art Park hours: Saturday, April 19, 2008: 10a.m-5p.m Sunday, April 20, 2008: Noon-5pm. Don’t miss the expanded Children’s Art Exhibit, where over 120 pieces of art, sculpture and mixed-media will be on display, created by the students in Gwinnett County’s Duluth school cluster.

Duluth Amphitheatre Grassroots Performers

Gwinnett County’s grassroots artists – dancers, singers, choruses and more – will grace the Duluth Town Green stage all day Saturday and Sunday!

Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and chairs and come spend the day. Browse the artist market, let the kids enjoy the Children’s Art Park, and kick back and take in one of the free Grassroots performances. Past performers include: the Stone Mountain Chorus, Capital City Express Swing Band, Northeast Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Chinese Dance Company, the Lionheart Theatre, the Atlanta Youth Choir and many more.
