About Our Gala
The Gala is one of our most popular events and favorite fundraisers. Who doesn’t like to party? The funds that we raise through the Gala and this weekend-long fine arts market go to fund Barefoot Arts Education Fund, which provides scholarships to area fine arts students. Last year Arts for Education awarded $7,500 in scholarships.
This year our reception kicks off at 5pm Saturday, May 11th with an artist preview. Grab a glass of wine or your favorite beverage and walk the Artists Market for that special piece of artwork!!!! Music and entertainment will serenade you from the Performance Stage. 6pm we will have a variety of culinary treats provided by six of our area restaurants along with fun and entertainment.
The evening will also feature Pulp Portraits, the Gwinnett County Public Library’s altered book fashion show. This year the different Library’s will bring their designs for this incredible fashion show to the stage. Individual “wearable works of art” are made from re-purposed books, magazines, and newspapers which have been donated to the Library System. These intricate paper fashions, created by several different Gwinnett Library branches, are breathtaking!
For our Silent Auction we have 100% participation from the artists in our Artists Market, who all donate a piece of artwork from their collections for our fundraising efforts. Our auction tent is transformed into an art gallery! The proceeds go towards our Arts for Education Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation of NE GA. Anyone interested in donating artwork for the festival are very welcomed to!
